Food and More Food.

I couldn't have done a better job myself of writing about food and appetite one experiences during pregnancy! I agreed with it for the most part except for cravings for crisps and McDonald's. Luckily, there weren't any cravings for burgers. Saying that I did think of Burger King's Bean burger that I once enjoyed. Now thinking about the burger is giving me heart burn.

Loved this article too on sharing tables at a restaurant. Wagamama does bring back good memories. Their vegetable fried rice served with pickles and miso soup was always delicious. My husband chose to order number 78. If I remember it correctly it was vegetable soup! Oh the broth was packed with flavour. Its something I have tried to replicate at home but haven't been successful yet.

Food and Parenting

I am quite a fan of these River Cafe recipes, which have been a regular feature on Guardian's food and drink section.

Parenting lessons from Dickens!

Lately the trend has been to grow your own vegetables, cook on a budget, and shop for food on a budget. Here is one for students! It would be good to see the same level of emphasis laid on financial planning. It may help the country in managing the debt problem. More importantly, there will be a generation which would have more sensible spending and saving habits.

Cure for bad breath!

The art of giving praise!

Random

Cleanliness is next to Godliness! As one grows older the ability to see dirt and mites increases. Here is one which could be very useful.

Some homemade cleaning products.

After a nice shower what would one fancy a nice meal. If its a nice sunny day with a gentle breeze what could be better than having a few classic Italian dishes - of course if someone cooked it for you even better!

Here are some more - oh they sound and look delicious!

Cupcakes! hmmm last night I indulged in one of those. Considering I do not have a sweet tooth eating a whole cupcake was quite an achievement. I give the due credit to hormones and their workings in the body. If you would like to delve into the history and origins of cupcakes, read on..

Finally, an article that proves that good food is the basis of evolution.

Some more rambling before the D-day!

Its true that the blog has taken a back seat in the last few weeks. No more! There were a few interesting ideas and articles that caught my attention and deserved to be on the blog. Mundane things can be made to sound humourous and interesting - it is quite a talent! A taxi-ride or a 'cab-ride' being made to come across as an adventure, something which at times may be even more important than life itself. Here is the link.

This was a chilling report. It makes one wonder what desperation can make one do. A lot of emotions run at the same time and it still doesn't register. Should there be more mental asylums or mental health clinics. Should more funding be dedicated to understanding human behaviour and why people act the way they do. As much as one can provide a reason for any crime, the fact remains, that someone lost their baby, some women delivered a baby in circumstances which were inhumane. 'Baby Killers' was very shocking!

Blogs and articles on manners and etiquette are quite interesting. Not only does it showcase the cultural aspects of a country or region but also is mind-boggling how different they can be. Is it just another way of people/cultures wanting to be different. This particular one was on sharing the bill. There have been some awkward situations in the past when people had to have their calculators out to split the bill. Yet again human behaviour at its most interesting display. Modern Manners was not an eye-opener though interesting enough to be here on the blog.
