Still Looking

Today has been one of those days when nothing has interested me enough to publish on the blog. One article mentioned about a looming war and the other mentioned about hmmmm it was so interesting that I cannot even remember!

Yesterday while watching some food programmes, my mouth was watering looking at the Christmas fruit cake. Almost made me want to bake one. Though the sugar-honey-maple syrup quantities were so much that it put me off.

The day has been sunny and beautiful and the weather reports talk about snow storm warning..

There isn't any link between Snow Storm and Milan though this headline did make me smile. Negative dress sizes - is that even possible? may be in the world of Victoria Beckham

So why do women fuss about their weight? There will be theories about self-esteem and self-confidence. The real answer - Nobody Knows! This phrase reminds of a cartoon series with Tommy and his baby friends getting into baby adventures. Just when I want to remember the name of the cartoon series - it skips my mind! Google comes to the rescue again - Tommy and Chucky from Rugrats! tried and tired and not a single youtube clip. IF not Rugrats a nice clip from Tom and Jerry :) Enjoy!

Monday Morning - Back to Blogging!

Unless you are in Mars or Venus, you are probably witnessing Christmas celebrations around you. Depending on the budget of the shops, there may be more lighting or a couple of stars glittering here or there. Depending on the country, there may be Santa sitting in a mall or waving a bell outside the store or may even have a house in the middle of a shopping park!

Its a time to share love, joy, gifts and also some annoying family facts (according to some) Annoying not for the sender, of course!

It is very difficult to distance oneself from the economic chaos engulfing all nations. For some the effects are far more evident than others! Somehow value of money has depreciated to an extent where billions of dollars worth of fraud is committed and there is numbness to the scale of fraud! So what is the Maddoff scandal all about ...

Trust has been a victim - people with money are gradually losing it; people with no money now don't have means of making money. The world is truly coming to an end, metaphorically speaking and there will be birth of a new system a new era. But what then what about the mindset - how soon will that change or will it change. If past is to be believed then change will be embraced sooner or later after all it will be a question of survival. With these ramblings I would have almost forgotten to add this link of selflessness. Is that the solution?

It was a sad story to have read 50 MBA students were incorrectly sent emails saying they were accepted for the course! oh dear!

Infections, Flu Jab more bacterias and viruses & Tigers?

Prowling through the websites for information on infections, bacteria and viruses, needless to say a lot more information went past these eyes than was necessary. No No, no link will be made to these infections - there isn't any shortage of worrying news. Ain't any need to add to that list.

Winter Myths Debunked qualifies for an easily debatable article. I suppose it must have some truth behind it after all it is supported by research. It makes me want to ask a few more questions - what was the time duration (number of years, months, weeks etc.) Also which studies are being referred to? - it would be educational to see links and sources!

What is the right balance between being analytical and letting things be and accepting them for face value?

Just when I thought I didn't come across interesting enough news to go on the blog, my husband sent a link with the tigers and monks living in perfect harmony and without any fear. The cats did look very content being stroked and patted! to arouse your curiosity to click the link here are a couple of images....enjrrrrroy!!

So Dating it is....

Yesterday, curiosity engulfed the brain cells to explore the origins of 'dating' so what were the findings? According to Wikipedia, "...Dating is any social activity undertaken by, typically, two people with the aim of each assessing the other's suitability as their partner in an intimate relationship or as a spouse. The word refers to the act of meeting and engaging in some mutually agreed upon social activity. Traditional dating activities include entertainment or a meal."

The last time the website was checked, no answers were provided for the origins of the word dating on wiki answers.

There was, however something mentioned on yahoo answers, "...The verb 'date' meaning to make an appointment or engagement for a particular time, usually with someone of the opposite sex, is American in origin and its usage was first noted in the 1920's. Used as a noun, 'date' means a social activity engaged in by two people. It may also refer to the person with whom such an appointment is made. The word itself derives from the Latin infinitive 'dare' ".

There is hope, a website that gives meaning and origins of word - it is Etymology - if in doubt that's the one!

After spending this length of time on figuring out origins of the word it is truly time to wander on to other pastures...
Its easy to get distracted with chocolate photos (Source: LA Times, Food Section) and especially when the title says, "Chocolate desserts....." The picture makes me want to pick up one of these chocolate bouchons and eat it and probably will make me smile like the cover shot of 'Amelie' in case memory has filed away the image here is a peek at the photo ......

Morning began with a news story of Kitten Rescue - isn't that just wonderful what could beat that but someone trying to sell his soul on e-bay. One would normally wonder about soul-searching seems like our Soul Seller had something else in mind. Commercialisation at its peak! What if the middle of the transaction the buyer decided to forfeit his side of the deal what would happen to the subject in the question 'the soul' of course! it is too much of thinking effort for a tuesday afternoon/evening/night. Just when sleeping seemed to be the solution there was another piece which was mind-boggling Snore Away!


Media is overflowing with reports about celebrity break-ups, who is dating whom and may be who just stopped dating someone. Should this blog to the misery - nope! and something out of the blue where did 'dating' come from? may be the research will continue tomorrow.....

With the doom and gloom around us here is a way to cheer you up and read some happy news on the hour every hour.

Reading blogs can be great fun! there must be thousands if not millions of people expressing themselves through their blogs and saving themselves an eternal spot on the world wide web with the e-surfing community.

There is nothing of much significance in this blog - just a day to day pictorial account of the stuff I find interesting on the internet. Is there any reason for a cyberspace spectator of blogs to know more about me - nah I don't think so! At least for now I have no desire to mention anything about myself.

For now I am not even certain of what will be the first thing that will go on this blog. It is an experiment with blogging!
